발화함과 동시에 사라지는 ‘춤’은 매체의 특성상 그 원본을 잘 보존하는 것은 매우 어렵다. 대부분의 춤은 몸에서 몸으로 이어져 맥을 이어왔는데 이 역시 원본과 동일하다고 보기 어렵다. 이렇듯 변형에 취약하고 복제가 어려운 춤을 기록하는 언어는 어떤 형태여야 할까? 반도의 무희 최승희는 저서 ‘조선민족무용기본’을 통해 본인의 춤과 다수의 작품을 기록으로 남겼다. ‘조선민족무용기본’에 수록된 춤 중 ‘수건춤’을 재현하고, 책 속의 춤(글)이 스코어로 작동하여 기록된 춤을 환원한다. 이를 통해 춤을 기록하는 것과 그것을 구현하는 것 사이에 서 발생되는 오류들을 드러내고자 한다.

Choi Seung-hee, a great dancer of the Chosun(Korea), recorded her dance and many works in her book "Basic of the Korean Dance. " Among the dances included in the "Basic of the Korean Dance," the "Soo-gun chum" is reproduced, and the dance (writing) in the book is operated as a score and the recorded dance is returned. Through this, we want to reveal the errors that arise.
