<하녀의 계단>은 저작권이 만료된 김기영 감독의 ‘하녀(1960)’ 영화를 푸티지로 사용했다. 영화 중 계단에서 벌어지는 씬들을 모아 재구성했다. 각각 씬들의 프레임을 규칙적 혹은 불규칙적으로 뒤섞어 새로운 리듬을 만들었다. 화면을 과도하게 줌하거나 속도를 조절하여 기계적인 움직임, 발작적인 움직임을 만들었다. 또한 인물들이 어떤 행동을 하기까지의 과정을 과도한 반복과 중지를 통해 계속 지연시켰다. 마치 오류가 난 듯 발작하는 신체 이미지가 주는 기괴한 느낌이 흥미로웠다.

<Stairs of the Housemaid> used Kim Ki-young's ‘The Housemaid (1960)’ movie. The scenes that take place on the stairs in the movie were reconstructed. A new rhythm was created by mixing the frames of each scene regularly or irregularly. Excessive zooming or adjusting the speed of the screen produced mechanical, seizures. It also continued to delay the process of characters making certain actions through excessive repetition and suspension. It was interesting to see the bizarre feeling of the physical image of the seizure as if there was an error.
